The Art of Yogic Speech

Speech is powerful.  Is yours aligned with what is true and beneficial?  In the current, tense political climate where unfriending is not uncommon, everyone could use some guidance around ethical speech. Drawing from yoga traditions and world religions, this class focuses on how to achieve clarity and maintain dignity and mutual respect during in-person and social media communications on sensitive, charged topics.  Includes lecture, discussion, personal reflection, and small group exercises. Cultivate the art of yogic speech to help repair our world!

Marcy Braverman Goldstein, Ph.D. has taught Sanskrit, history, ethics, and philosophies of yoga since the 1990s. She draws from doctoral training at UC Santa Barbara and in India, and twenty years of yoga practice to design courses such as Embodying Sounds of Sanskrit, Yoga Through the Ages, and The Art of Yogic Speech.  She has taught at UC Riverside, Davidson College, UNC Charlotte, and Queens University of Charlotte.  As Creator of Sanskrit Revolution, she teaches nationally at studios, teacher trainings, conferences & festivals.  Marcy’s goal is to enhance people’s practice and further professionalize instructors by illuminating the fascinating language and culture of yoga.

Using basic principles of Yoga & Ayurveda, learn the elements and energetics of spring, how it manifests in our bodies, & what to do to life IN JOY in the coming months.
