What is Hot Yoga?

Hot Yoga is a sequence of yoga postures performed in a heated environment. The increased temperature in the room allows an increase in stretching, flexibility and helps to prevent injury. The hot temperature combined with yoga poses increases the rate at which you sweat and burn calories – This is a great way to detoxify your body! Drink plenty of fluid before, during and after each class.

What are the benefits of Hot Yoga?

  • Improves flexibility, suppleness and strength
  • Helps with the ability to deal with stress and to increase relaxation
  • Helps with weight loss, toning, and most importantly – staying fit and healthy!
  • Energy alignment, when performed on regular basis and with proper alignment, the body can experience energy alignment (Chakra balancing)

What do I need to bring to a Hot Yoga class

  • Towel
  • Water
  • Yoga Mat (or you can borrow ours)

We recommend you wear lightweight exercise clothing, you may want to bring a change of clothes for after class. You can count on getting sweaty!

Drink plenty of water before, during and after class (some students add electrolytes to water). During hot yoga you sweat out toxic chemicals from your body but you may also sweat out important trace minerals. Electrolytes replace essential trace vitamins and minerals your body needs to function at optimal levels.

How many times a week should I practice Hot Yoga?

Practice as much as you want. Use the 2 week new client special to practice as much as possible, then monitor and balance your practice and health progress. Practicing Hot Yoga 3 to 5 times a week is the average and will reap the most benefits.

What if i have no experience in Yoga?

Perfect. Hot Yoga is a great match for you AND everyone has to start somewhere! Hot Yoga Asana’s have been created for the beginner and the average person. You don’t really think everyone in America is naturally flexible do you?

Can I take a class more than once a day?

Yes indeed! Many studios (including us!) put out challenges to the students. Some challenges consist of practicing everyday for 30 days while other challenges consist of taking class for 5 days a week and 90 days in a row.

Why is Yoga called a Practice?

Because you are already perfect! Yoga is an ancient spiritual practice and can transform your entire life if you are open to it. The practice of Yoga is a different experience every day. By not taking yourself seriously, it will free you of the Ego mind (not to mention advance your practice at a rapid pace).

Being a student of Yoga is a practice and not a competition. We ask you kindly to leave your EGO at the door.

  • “The light in me honors the light in you”
  • “Treat others the way you would like to be treated”
  • “Love thy neighbor”
